Status: In Progress Land Office’s work on this challenging site answers strict regulatory and budget standards with a strong architectural solution. The developer-driven project subdivides one of Playa Del Rey’s last buildable lots for three new residences overlooking the Pacific Ocean. 

Our design addresses the steeply sloped site and its restrictive zoning by envisioning each house as a stack of dramatically cantilevered concrete slabs, with the roof of each level creating a terrace for the floor above. Exterior walls facing the ocean are continuous expanses of glass, in strong contrast with the inland side carved out of the slope. 

Land Office was involved in the project from the outset, performing a Due Diligence phase prior to being engaged for the Schematic Design for submission to the California Coastal Commission.
