Role: Architect of Record 
(Design Architect: Studio Shamshiri) The project is the renovation of the Smalley House by one of the most renowned mid-century modernist architects, A. Quincy Jones. The home was originally built in 1973, making this one of Jones’ last projects. 

The single-story residence is one of his largest residential buildings, spanning over 7,600 square feet. Located in Holmby Hills, the design team restored many of the iconic elements of the original design including the river rock pebble flooring, the douglas fir clad ceilings and walls, and the brick fireplace, while modernizing it for the needs of the client, a well-known gallerist. 

The project also includes the addition of a two-story gym pavilion in the rear of the property.  This project was realized as a partnership with interior design firm Studio Shamshiri.
